A touch of bacon fat greets the nose on this darkly, briary fruited, yet somewhat indistinct nose. There’s some gentle oak influence obvious here and the fruit leans towards the spicy, jammy blackberry/mulberry end of the spectrum. In the mouth this does feel like a zin though with gently wooly tannins and good acidity supporting modest levels of dark, briary berry fruit with a hint of crasins around the edges. The wine finishes with a sweet jammy tone and nicely stiff tannins on the moderately long finish. 86pts

What a great job Sebastiani has done here. It's everything you want in an affordable Sonoma Zin. Soft and rich in blackberry, cherry, cola, vanilla and Asian spice flavors, it's for immediate drinking.
Appealing if a bit rustic, with roasted sage and wild berry aromas and zesty yet tightly wound black cherry, cedar and forest flavors. Tannins grip the finish. Drink now through 2010.
An easygoing quaff, with jammy cherry rhubarb pie aromas and flavors and a spicy finish. Drink now.

Sebastiani creates user-friendly wines, and the Zinfandel is a prime example: juicy raspberry and blackberry flavors are accentuated by spicy pepper and chai tea notes. Smooth and soft, it's quaffably delicious!
Aromas of raspberry and brown sugar, mixed with vanilla are detected in the nose. Raspberry fruit creeps over the tongue, followed by hints of herbs de Provence and a soft, pleasant, oaky finish.
