This wine is a bombshell! Seductive nose of dark red and black berry with some cola. Palate is silky blackberry and pepper lovingly wrapped in sweet vanilla (oak). Body is medium weight with a nice medium length finish with a fair amount of alcohol. This could still use some time in the bottle. 87pts.

Winemaker's Notes:

Produced 100% from the Harvey Vineyard, America’s oldest Zinfandel Vineyard, documented as existing in 1869. “Vineyard 1869” was planted in the days when horses were used for culti-vation. This ancient vineyard is non-irrigated, stand alone head pruned vines that fully express the Amador Zinfandel terroir.

Tasting Notes:

Briary varietal Zinfandel. Deep blackberry, fig, pomegranate, and violets, balanced with a fleshy center and hints of coffee and bright currants. Old Vine complexity and first growth quality.
