Food Pairings for Scott Family Estate Chardonnay Arroyo Seco
I'm giving it 3.5 overall. The unusual thing about this Chard is the reduced Oak (in comparison to most USA Pacific Coast products.) The "buttery" aspect isn't overdone, either. I agree with emmiw- it IS smooth, with apple and pinapple-like tones. The taste is also very solid and forward, not at all watery. The reason why I don't give it a full 4.0 (although, that's the button I'll click) is the lack of memorable characteristics -- it's very good, but a bit boring. *Safe Choice* for non-afficionado guests.
I give this a four glass rating. Smooth, apple, pineapple hints with mellow butteriness.
