Food Pairings for Schramsberg Vineyards Champagne Blend California Blanc de Blancs
I tasted this wine on June 19, 2007. I'm not one that normally goes for sparkling wine. However, I found that Schramsberg's product was particularly good. Later in 2007, I was fortunate to get an extensive tour of the Schramsberg winery and caves. Highly recommended. The notes on this wine were sparse, but here goes: Nose of classic Chardonnay, not yeasty, but fresh smelling, with a tiny bit of oak. Flavor was neutral, tart, less crisp than their 2004 Blanc de Noir. Clean and not over-oaked.

Sleek and vibrant, with floral apple and lemon aromas and crisp, complex flavors of pear and yeasty cinnamon that linger toward the minerally finish. Drink now through 2015.
Made from 100% Chardonnay grown mostly in Napa and Sonoma counties, this charming bubbly is one of the best blanc de blancs on the market. Itandrsquo;s rich and honeyed and feels so good in the mouth, carrying flavors of oranges, sweet limes, Meyer lemons, vanilla and toasty bread. Drink over the next six years.

Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, this bubbly is dry, elegant and will take some bottle age. It has rich and complex, but subtle, flavors of grilled peaches, pears, brioche, vanilla and smoke, with a spicy finish. Give it a few years for the edges to smooth out.
Incredibly good, so rich and complex you'd swear you were drinking vintage Champagne. Flavors of yeast, lees and baking bread dominate now, with underlying accents of sweet lime. This young, elegant wine will improve with extended cellaring.
Crisp and fruity, with pronounced peach, apple, quince and vanilla flavors that taste a little sweet, with a full dosage, but nicely offset by very high acidity. Finishes clean and doughy.
This 100% Chardonnay is easily the best Schramsberg blanc de blancs to date. It's so rich and luxurious in subtle lime, peach and brioche flavors, and so refined in its beautiful silky mouthfeel, and so long in the finish, you can't help but love it. Gorgeous now, and should hold and even improve for the next six to eight years.
Fruitful aromas of fresh lime and Granny Smith apple, accentuated by nuances of juicy pineapple and lemon grass, are complimented by notes of honeycomb and hazelnut from the years of aging en tirage. On the palate, the 2008 Blanc de Blancs enters crisp and tangy, unfolding with flavors of lime, pineapple and exotic tropical fruits. Delicious and layered flavors of lemon custard and fresh-from-the-oven brioche follows. The palate finishes with a delicate sweetness and a generous acidity that is long and quenching.
