Schramsberg Vineyards Blanc de Blancs North Coast Sparkling Chardonnay Napa 2003
Notes on the Schramsberg Blanc De Blancs California 2003 : WINEMAKER NOTES: Alluring aromas of tropical fruit and subtle hints of roasted pecans. On the palate, it has citrus characteristics and baked apple and ripe pear flavors that lead to a long, vibrant finish. It is crisp and refreshing in the Schramsberg tradition.SCHRAMSBERG BLANC DE BLANCS CALIFORNIA 2003
I tasted this wine on June 19, 2007. I'm not one that normally goes for sparkling wine. However, I found that Schramsberg's product was particularly good. Later in 2007, I was fortunate to get an extensive tour of the Schramsberg winery and caves. Highly recommended. The notes on this wine were sparse, but here goes: Nose of classic Chardonnay, not yeasty, but fresh smelling, with a tiny bit of oak. Flavor was neutral, tart, less crisp than their 2004 Blanc de Noir. Clean and not over-oaked.
lemon-lime and tropical aromas combine with hints of vanilla spice
A great value for a classy bubbly. Lovely salmon color, medium-bodied and crisp, toasty finish. A favorite.
