Here are the details. The Schramsberg gift box is made of a substantial black cardboard with a black suede cloth foam interior. The box is 16 x 14 and bears the gold Schramsberg logo on its lid. The foam is strong enough to protect the contents of the box during shipping. The gift box will be nested inside an outer shipping carton. We are thrilled to introduce the new Schramsberg crystal sparkling wine flute. This new flute was hand crafted by Bottega del Vino Crystal in Verona Italy for Schramsberg Vineyards. The origin of the company is associated with one of Italys most famous restaurants: Bottega del Vino in Verona. The restaurant has been in business since 1890 and has a wine list which features 2,800 wines and a cellar of 130,000 bottles. Mr. Barzan, the owner of this restaurant, became frustrated with the quality of existing crystal glasses. Finding the perfect glass to enhance the dining experience of his guests became so important that he started a crystal company with the intent of making stemware that is hand-blown, lead free, ultra clear and dishwasher safe. Today he has achieved his goal and Craig Roemer our winemaker and vineyard manager was so impressed with the quality of this product that he insisted upon having our own Schramsberg flute. The flute is a single pull stem, meaning it was mouth blown as a single piece and thus there is no weak point between the bowl and the stem. Bottega del Vino Crystal is handmade using a proprietary crystal formulation that is both lead free and dishwasher safe. Indeed we found it to be perfect in weight, balance, clarity and its strength is also impressive. The safest way to wash these crystal glasses is in the dishwasher. After brushing away any heavy deposits such as lipstick, put them in the dishwasher set to the shortest cycle. Detergent is not necessary. Let the drying time run for a few minutes and finish them with a linen towel. Dry and polish the flute, inside and out. Polishing the inside leaves a small linen residue which helps with bubble formation. Always hold the bowl of the glass rather than the base while drying. Never twist the base and the bowl in opposite directions. These 8.5 ounce flutes are 10.5 inch tall and feature an elegant rendition of the Schramsberg logo on their foot. These elegant flutes enhance the experience and the enjoyment of drinking Schramsberg sparkling wine. Once you try them, we are confident you will agree with us.
Editorial Reviews for Schramsberg J. Schram Chardonnay Pinot Noir North Coast
Minerally and buttery on the nose with a real creamy appeal. In the mouth this has an elegant texture and fine mousse with flavors of green melon and citrus delivered in a very linear style that is layered and richly flavored. Great length on the finish which shows a hint of red fruits on the final. 91pts

Dedicated to the founder of Schramsberg, their J. Schram was first made in 1987. Using only the top 5 to 7% of their grapes, only 1500 cases are made. This is a blend of 75% Chardonnay & 25% PN that sees some barrel fermentation. The result is showing evolution yet with a lush, toasty palate with notes of quince, green apples & pineapple.
