What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

Winemakers Notes

Tasting Notes: Riesling, a dry yet lively wine with a racy acidity, is considered the noble grape of the Alsatian varietals. It is very different to its German counterpart and to the numerous Rieslings which are now appearing around the world. The Alsace Riesling is better known for the elegant balance of acidity and fruit. It is a late maturing varietal and continues to mature even at quite low temperatures with wonderful results when the vintage ends with a warm and sunny harvest month. This is a beautiful example of a high quality Riesling that is fruity, dry and robust. It will enhance all simply-prepared read more...

100% Riesling mainly planted in the Bollenberg plot grown on volcanic sandstone. Slowly pressed pneumatically. Static settling of the lees. Fermented in temperature controlled tuns from 1 to 4 months. Raised on the lees for 6 to 8 months. A brilliant pale yellow color with a little bit of legs. Medium + aroma intensity with lime, grapefruit, apple, pear, apricot and pronounced petrol minerality and little hints of flint and white pepper on the finish. Medium acidity, long dry finish, medium + flavor intensity, medium + body, well balanced, fairly complex and good quality. I really liked the read more...

This is a beautiful example of a high quality Riesling that is fruity, dry and robust. It will enhance all simply-prepared dishes and fish, as well as meat. It may easily be cellared three to four years, but is enjoyable now.

Varietal Riesling Closure Cork Size 750ml Alc/Vol 12.5% Enjoy Now - 2010 Light yellow colour with green reflections of good intensity. The nose is reserved- delicate. One perceives fine fruity hints- citrus fruits- candied orange zests. Aeration reveals a slight lemony hint. The complex nose shows its reserve but indicates a good degree of maturity of the grapes. This wine requires time to open out. The onset in the mouth is slender- the alcohol support well balanced. One evolves on a sharp- edgy and airy medium where the complex flavours remain reserved but with a dominant of citrus fruits; read more...
