Bursting from the glass with aromas of spices, minerals and slate, the sultry, medium-bodied 2003 Riesling Spätlese Dorsheimer Pittermännchen is a plush, supple wine. Broad, angle-free, and revealing outstanding length, this lush offering regales the taster with layers of creamed apples and notes of limestone. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2013.
Apple jelly and peach preserves on the nose. Honeyed and jellied-fruit richness and sultry gardenia florality in the mouth, augmented and restrained by a refreshing hint of angular acidity and by wet stone and iodine mineral notes. Touches of brown spice emerge on the finish.
