Schloss Vollrads Riesling Qualitätswein 2010

External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:

This historic Rheingau producer has made wine for more than 800 years, and after a stumble in quality in the 1980s and ’90s, has regained its footing under managing director Rowald Hepp. Uneven spring flowering and wet weather in August made for challenging growing condition in 2010, but the best estates prevailed with wines marked by high acidity supported by ripeness and concentration. This spatlese, which is built to age, is a prime example. 2,000 cases made.
