Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Winemaker's Notes:

*Wine Enthusiast's Winery of the Year 2009* Azienda Agricola Mario Schiopetto is one of the oldest wine estates in the Collio area. In the rolling hill in Capriva del Friuli, in the province of Gorizia, Mario Schiopetto founded this legendary estate in 1965. This Blanc des Rosis achieved 91 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, as well as a flattering review from Antonio Galloni: "The 2008 whites are decidedly ripe and opulent, but also beautifully balanced." The blend of grapes used in this Blanc des Rosis combine to produce an intense and complex aroma encompassing ripe peach, flowers and spices. It has a taut structure with crisp acidity, balance and a long mineral finish. It is pure and rich, but will benefit from another year's laying down, with its peak maturity between 2011-2016.
