Add your reviewThe nose opens a bit thin at uncorking, with hints of rum and eggnog surrounding black fruit aromas. The palate contains strong flavors of tobacco and blackberry, with black cherry intermingling. Silky smooth and clean finish. This wine seems a bit overrated by Wine Spectator, and that may cost it some of its appeal as it will struggle to live up to such high expectations.
Garnet-black colour with deep intensity. Cherries, ripe red tree fruit and spice on the nose. Well-balanced with good mouthfeel and smooth, ripe taninns. Red tree fruit, plums and spice on the palate with a medium-long finish.
Beautiful, complex wine with great finish and mouth feel. Huge tobacco/cigar flavour, mixed with dark berry/plum palate. High alcohol but with decanting and lots of air, creates well balanced, heady drink. Great to drink now and will be good for many years. Would be lovely on it's own with a high quality cigar! Also a great value wine.
Rich on the palate with plum and ripe cherries. A note of vanilla. '06 vintage also good but quite smoky.

This wine shows a nose of ripe cherries, rich spices and licorice with some vanillin undertones derived from the extended maturation in select new and old American oak. On the palate the flavors explode in a fusion of complext oak and well integrated tannins with a backbone of ripe black plums.
