Schild Estate Shiraz Barossa 2009
COLOUR: Vibrant, deep rich red BOUQUET: A nose of ripe cherries, plums, dark chocolate and Christmas cake spice. PALATE: A middle palate of vibrant, dark berry fruit is supported by clearly defined yet elegant tannin framework and some balanced acidity to provide structure and length.
Herbal nose of sage, thyme and rosemary. Dark red and blue fruit, dark plum, blueberry. Flavors of plum, blueberry, spice and roasted meat. It carries a sweet, ripe finish of blueberry, black cherry, red raspberry, cola and white pepper. 3/10/12
Got this as a gift and had my doubts. This shiraz was mouth filling and had all the flavors that you read about but seldom get. It has it all including very gentle tannins. A very deep dark purple. The finish was both moderate and very satisfying. A super wine at this price point.
Intense on the nose. I kept swirling and sniffing,. Intoxicating and draws you into the glass. Spicy, cherry, sage. Absolutely delightful. Will invest in several bottles. Just very nice by itself or paired with cheese that can stand up to the powerhouse Shiraz. Parm-Regg is great with this wonderful wine.
