Scherrer Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 2004
Robert Parker: One of the forgotten varietals from Alexander Valley is Cabernet Sauvignon, and Scherrer does an excellent job with it. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Scherrer Vineyard Estate reveals attractive, dusty, black currant, and licorice notes with a hint of spicy oak in the background. Medium to full-bodied with sweet tannin, excellent concentration, and a nicely textured mouthfeel, it can be enjoyed now and over the next decade or more. (Dec 2008) 200 cases produced.
5/6/2012 rated 95 points: Opened this bottle the day before. At the party this was the first to go and it was incredible. Had to hide the 2nd bottle to keep for ourselves.
Beautiful wine. Nice balance and spicy. I think it is underestimated. One to try!
