Schäfer-Fröhlich Riesling Spätlese Trocken Bockenauer Felseneck 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): The two Spätlesen from the Felseneck came this year from the very steepest section of the vineyard and was not harvested until the span between November 10th to the 15th, and is a beautifully delicate, dancing bottle in the making. The bouquet is deep and very pure, as it offers up scents of pear, white cherry, lovely slate tones, bee pollen, citrus zest and spring flowers. On the palate the wine is medium-full, long and very, very pure, with great refinement and elegance, lovely mid-palate depth and plenty of crisp acidity on the long, filigreed and again, simply dancing finish. This is my kind of Spätlese! 2010-2035. (Mar/Apr 2010)
