Pure bouquet of honeydew melon, magnolia and sweet lime. The velvety sweet fruit and salty acidity give this wine an exotic kick. Pure and impeccably balanced, with a lively, elegant finish. Spatlese is seldom better in its youth than this beauty.

A swath of saline and mineral flavors and racy acidity define this complex white, which is cool, yet not reserved, with layers of black currant, herb, peach, persimmon and stone elements that play out on the long aftertaste. Best from 2012 through 2024.

Winemaker's Notes:

92 points Wine Spectator: Displays plenty of orange and nectarine aromas and flavors, with spice notes to match. Lime and slate flavors emerge by the finish, making this complex, layered and concentrated. Still, this stays light and fresh. Drink now through 2022. 500 cases made. (2010)
