Schafer-Frohlich Blanc de Noir Trocken 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

At first glance, it's difficult to tell whether this is truly a blanc or a rosé in blanc's clothing. Depending on the light and angle, the color oscillates between a vibrant yellow-topaz and the palest salmon hue. The profile is equally fluid, with spring raspberries, strawberries & cream, and ruby red grapefruit eventually giving way to white wine hallmarks of banana, lime pith, and sweet jasmine. The medium-weight texture is racy and sleek and with firm slate minerality and no extraneous filler, while the acid and glycerol are in perfect harmony, ample evidence of the stellar character of the 2015 vintage. This is easily the most thought-provoking rosé of the year thus far.
