Lovely cherry, raspberry, plum, and boysenberry tones dominate the aromas of this very fruit-forward Cabernet, which shows more subtle notes of vanilla and caramel as the wine evolves in the glass.

Winemaker's Notes:

The vintage was very kind to hillside wines. The heat provided as much ripeness as necessary to fully ripen tannin while the elevation helped circumvent the extremes of the strongest temperature spikes. This true ripeness manifests itself in a saturated black/garnet hue with opening notes of classic Cab character: scorched earth, blueberries, sweet tobacco and black currants. There's a sweetness to the nose that follows through on the palate with more red, blue and black fruit flavors, sweet cream, pain grille and cassis. The structure of the site comes up only in the very end to help prolong the finish and give focus to the perfectly round fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon (79%), Syrah (11%), Petit verdot (4%), Cabernet franc (3%) Malbec (2%), Merlot (1%)
