Sbragia Family Sauvignon Blanc Dry Creek Valley Home Ranch 2007

External Review by Shop Wine Direct:

Wine Spectator ReviewRated 91Effusively fragrant, with honeysuckle, jasmine and peach blossom notes, bright apple, citrus and pineapple flavors. Terrific finish, where the juicy flavors sail on and on. Drink now.Wine Tasting NotesThis wine has wonderful tropical, grapefruit and green apple aromas and flavors with hints of orange blossom, citrus rind and lemongrass that lead to a long, tangy finish. This wine screams Sauvignon Blanc and is very different from the full-bodied, oak-driven Chardonnays I usual make. In fact, this is my wife's favorite wine, but I'll make sure some bottles make their way across the country!

I've had for some time, a small, family-owned winery making limited, individual lots of wine from grapes grown in select blocks of my favorite vineyards. I've always had one foot in Sonoma and the other in Napa. Both areas mean a lot to me emotionally. I'm more attached to Dry Creek because it's where I raised my kids. But the wines that I've made at Beringer are like children, so Napa is also a very special place for me. Either way, the wines are intensely personal, an expression not only of terroir, but of my family's winemaking heritage. -Ed Sbragia   Come visit us at our beautiful location at the end of Dry Creek Road. Our winery is perched on a hillside, overlooking the entire valley with sweeping views from our terrace. Guests are invited to bring a picnic or purchase light deli items from our tasting room and enjoy the sunshine and vineyard views. Seated Terrace Tastings are now available by appointment. Sbragia Family Vineyards prides itself on its single vineyard varietals and small case production. Varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. Most of the wines are made from vineyards owned by the Sbragia family, but do include select vineyards from Sonoma and Napa Valley as well. Our wines have received many accolades and are considered some of California’s best. The only thing better than the view is the wine! Read less
