Sbragia Dry Creek Valley Home Ranch Chardonnay 2011
"The 2011 Chardonnay Home Ranch is drop-dead gorgeous. Crushed rocks, butter. white orchard fruit and spices meld together in this harmonious, beautifully crafted Chardonnay from father and son team Ed and Adam Sbragia. The style is very 2011, which is to say focused and energetic, as opposed to the richer Chardonnays Sbragia fans are used to, but that is the beauty of wine. Each vintage is its own story...91" Antonio Galloni 7/13
Cedar box, oak, and apple aromas. There's a good freshness from the acidity here with grapefruit flavors and a hint of sweetness. A very tasty wine that would be great with cheese.
Golden hue. Appears oxygen is getting the best of this wine (unsure how well it was kept prior to my purchase). Rather odd aroma of wet grains, like beer wort. A savory cashew, pistachio nuttiness. Guava, dried pineapple and quince paste on the nose as well. Pear tart, toasted brioche, heavy baking spices especially nutmeg on the palate. Very toasty and smoky with a powerful fatty nut quality. It truly is like liquid cashews with only slight suggestions of tree fruit. Big for sipping on its own, but unsure what I'd pair it with except maybe vanilla ice cream. Recommend you drink right away unless cellared all along. 80 pts. 5/23/13

Good yellow-gold color. Slightly high-toned aromas and flavors of tropical fruits apricot vanilla and honey; hints of botrytis here. Plump broad and sweet with a strong component of spicy vanillin oak. The lingering finish turns more classically dry. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
Marked by tangy nectarine and tangerine flavors, with a touch of green apple and pineapple, this is crisp, flinty and intense, with a long, cleansing, leesy finish. Drink now through 2012. 3,283 cases made. -JL Wine Spectator. A Chardonnay wine from California in USA. 2008 Sbragia Family Vineyards Chardonnay Home Ranch 750ml
Wonderful tropical and pear aromas with fresh pineappleand lemon with spice notes and a hint of Dry Creek minerality that lingers through the mouth and into a rich and refreshing finish.

There's something rustic and spicy and earthy about Dry Creek Chardonnays, but Ed Sbragia manages to lift this wine into opulence. It's pretty oaky, yet the vanilla and honey flavors marry perfectly with the pineapple and pear fruit to produce a wine of great attraction.
Sleek, elegant and refined, offering a beam of lemon, citrus, spicy pear, honeysuckle and hazelnut fruit that's focused and pure, with a long, clean finish. Drink now through 2012.
