What to Expect

Merlot has gotten a bad rap as of late but there is no denying the wine's appeal. Packed with deep, dark berry fruit and nuanced hints of cocoa, herb and earth with a soft structure. Its velvety texture makes Merlot instantly appealing and an obvious alternative to similar, more tannic Bordeaux varieties.

Winemakers Notes

The 2004 Merlot is an exceptionally well-balanced wine, uninterrupted from the aromatic bouquet through to the lingering finish. It begins with intense, deep color, pursued by rich, toasty black cherry aromas. Consistent with the nose, this wine displays prominent black cherry flavors, complemented by a hint of oak and spice to provide an elegant and smooth finish. After 24 months of French oak aging, this wine is delicious now and will cellar beautifully for eight to twelve years.
