Maison Louis Jadot is a winery that’s proud of its heritage and land. Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Jadot expanded rapidly, taking northern Europe by storm. When his son, Louis Jean Baptiste, took over in 1900, more change took place, and many vineyards were acquired, including Corton Charlemagne and Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles. With the help of Rudy Kopf, founder of the Kobrand Corporation, Maison Jadot expanded even further, setting up shop in both England and the U.S. In 1985, Madame Jadot sold the company to Rudy Kopf’s family, ensuring a successful future for the company. The land is very important to Maison Louis Jadot, and making the terroir shine through is always a priority. Maison Jadot identifies with its Burgundy heritage, and all wines are Appellation Contrôlée. The winery controls about 380 acres of land in Burgundy, including Côte d'Or, Mâconnais and Beaujolais. Jacques Lardière, winemaster, works with Christine, Guillaume, and Audrey to ensure that the single-variety wines produced, including Pinot Noir for reds, Chardonnay for whites, and Gamay for Beaujolais, always produce the best, most consistent wines. This review is for the 2009 vintage, which I couldn't find on Snooth. Pale straw color, lots of fruit and good acidity, with a slightly warm, nutty flavor in the middle. Short, tart aftertaste that leaves you wanting another sip. Very nice for the price ($12ish at Stew Leonard's).

A 2010 Moulin-a-Vent Clos de Rochegres originates in the high-elevation site that is by de Castelnau s account farthest advanced in Chateau des Jacques s conversion to biodynamic farming thanks he says to the diligent collaboration of those participating vignerons who are responsible for day-to-day work in these particular vines. Decidedly the most carnal wine in its collection this emphasizes both smoked and fresh red meats and displays a sappy sense of extract-richness even though tart black

Decidedly the most carnal wine in its collection this emphasizes both smoked and fresh red meats and displays a sappy sense of extract-richness even though tart black fruits are not to the fore. Saliva-inducing salinity tincture of iodine and what I can only describe - even if this is merely from power-of-suggestion - as iron filings introduce dynamic and depth to a sustained finish. This finely-tannic energetic though hardly effusive Moulin-a-Vent should benefit from a couple of years in bottle and merit attention for six or more. -David Schildknecht Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

The lovely, elegant Chardonnay has nice buttery notes with honeyed pear and fresh apples, offset by a gentle touch of vanilla. Excellent balance of fruit and acidity on the palate with a lingering finish.

A discreet but not invisible wood nose sets off the wonderfully fresh and expressive broad-ranging notes of acacia blossom, white peach, spiced pear and wet stone aromas. The cool, clean and ultra-pure flavors exude both a fine sense of tension as we... Burghound. A Chardonnay wine from Burgundy in France. 2010 Louis Jadot Puligny Montrachet les Folatieres 750ml

Bright pale green-yellow. High-pitched aromas of lemon oil white pepper wild herbs and crushed rock. Intensely flavored and suave with a silky texture and a light touch to its lemon stone and wild herb flavors. Wonderfully fine-grained Batard from the Puligny side of the cru. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
