Maison Louis Jadot is a winery that’s proud of its heritage and land. Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Jadot expanded rapidly, taking northern Europe by storm. When his son, Louis Jean Baptiste, took over in 1900, more change took place, and many vineyards were acquired, including Corton Charlemagne and Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles. With the help of Rudy Kopf, founder of the Kobrand Corporation, Maison Jadot expanded even further, setting up shop in both England and the U.S. In 1985, Madame Jadot sold the company to Rudy Kopf’s family, ensuring a successful future for the company. The land is very important to Maison Louis Jadot, and making the terroir shine through is always a priority. Maison Jadot identifies with its Burgundy heritage, and all wines are Appellation Contrôlée. The winery controls about 380 acres of land in Burgundy, including Côte d'Or, Mâconnais and Beaujolais. Jacques Lardière, winemaster, works with Christine, Guillaume, and Audrey to ensure that the single-variety wines produced, including Pinot Noir for reds, Chardonnay for whites, and Gamay for Beaujolais, always produce the best, most consistent wines. Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Excellent un-oaked Chardonnay. Light and crisp mouthfeel with slight notes of citrus. Clean finish with just a hint of tartness. Medium-light mouth feel, not buttery like some chardonnays. Very light floral nose. I served with swordfish (pan-fried in butter with capers and parsley over rice) and I think it was an exceptional pairing.... perhaps why I like this so much. So serve with something similar! **UPDATE** had later without food.Still very good, but I changed rating from 4.5 to 4.

Vanilla, oaky, ripe fruit, honey. A bit of menthol odor on the nose though imperceptible to the taste. Disturbing amount of tannin. Admittedly, I'm not a chardonnay fan, but this one disappoints, particularly considering the price point.

Weingut: Louis JadotRegion: Beaujolais - Moulin-à-VentRebsorte: GamayInhalt: 0,75 lAlkoholgehalt: 13 Vol.%Fassreife: 8 Monate in Barriques gereiftLagerfähigkeit: 10-15 Jahre ab JahrgangEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 16-18°C Suche nach Rebsorten > Rote Rebsorten > Gamay

Dunkle, rubinrote Farbe, kräftig und würzig in der Nase, kraftvoll und vollmundig, mit elegant eingebetteten Tanninen, langer Abgang. Verfeinert sich noch mit den Jahren.

Jadot s 2006 Chassagne-Montrachet La Romanee (a small lot from purchased grapes) smells of butterscotch, toasted almond, litchi, lanolin, and vanilla. Its exotic and advanced ripeness and hints of new wood are nicely complimented by the wine s creamy richness. In the finish, one glimpses hints of stone and chalk appropriate to the site. Like its Caillerets sibling, this impressively rich cru bottling may well prove longer-lived than the corresponding village Chassagne (made up in any case of a majority premier cru), but is neither as winsome nor as elegant.
