Intense grass and roasted chili on the nose almost smoky mineral tones as well, smells like a riverbed, A bit light, disconcertingly so, with adequate acidity but a rather blowzy feel in the mouth, moderate flavors of gooseberry and green plum on the palate with a touch of zesty herb and lime, rather low key and boring though the lightness grows on you. Eminently drinkable and friendly. 85pts

The amount of fruit is excellent- finishes nice with some spice- Slight Rosemary. Very nice effort. My rating -- 89--- How could this wine be improved? Add some semillon to give it more body and complexity.

90 points. The nose on this wine was explosive with tons of complexity showing through. There are lush tropical fruit and floral tones, an absolutely textbook example of fig, ripe passionfruit, gooseberry, endless green fruit, and even a faint hint of rose. The flavor was equally impressive with lots of sharp acid, gooseberries, figs, and a nice chalkiness with some tropical fruit tones around the edges. This wine had great balance between ripe fruit and clean minerality. This is a very well made wine and an excellent example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. For the price of $7 this excellent Savignon Blanc from Savignon Republic is worth 4 glasses. Fun wine to drink on a hot summer evening and has so many different tastes as you sip the wine.
In your face (and nose) style. Pungent gooseberry, nice acid, but not over the top. Easy to drink.
Run, don't walk to Trader Joe's, spend $7., and travel to New Zealand, with vibrant herbaceous aromas, gooseberry, citrus flavors, and a focused and long finish. Terrific wine for the price of a fish taco!
