Sartori Winery is located in the north of Verona, among the hills of Valpolicella, just in the heart of the classic production area, famous not only for its wines, but also for the pleasantness of the landscape and for the interesting tourist and cultural destinations. Here Pietro Sartori bought the seventeenth-century Villa Maria, which was the residence of counts Murari, still headquarters of the company. Very soon the excellent wines produced in the villa’s winery found favour with a growing clientele and so Regolo, Pietro’s son, made of this activity the successful vocation of the family. About the sixties Pier Umberto and Franco, Regolo’s sons, thanks to their strong entrepreneurial abilities, have had the merit of bearing the company to the international limelight, starting the export of Veronese wines. Today Andrea, Luca and Paolo, representatives of the fourth generation, have managed, thanks to their dedication, to continuously increase both quality and quantity of production. The 2004 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corte Bra is the estate's more important Amarone bottling. It naturally shows more richness and density, along with a darker more inward personality. As good as this is, the French oak is a bit overdone and attenuates the finish. There is no question Sartori is working with first-class fruit; now it's up to the winemaking to be less intrusive. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024.

A superrich, very complex wine with aromas of plum liqueur, bacon and mint. On the palate it has that smoky, raisiny character that is the hallmark of fine Amarone. Sustained by a solid structure, good depth and a fine finish.

Attractive citrus fruit and ripe plum aromas lead to a full body, with lovely silky tannins and texture, followed by a long, caressing finish. Drink now or age. Best from 2011 through 2018.

Pretty mineral tones of delicate talc powder and dried flowers frame a powerful wine that reveals a dense core of dried fruit and raisins at its heart. This Amarone is dense and sweet in the mouth with chewy tannins and good length.

This wine has a leg up on the competition thanks to its elegance. Vibrant ruby red in color, its aromas include ripe cherry, milk chocolate, leather, tobacco and Indian spice. Yes, the aromas are intense, but they are weaved together in a seamless, harmonious fashion creating a polished and pristine whole. Try it with roast leg of lamb and broad bean purée.
