What to Expect

Verdicchio comes from the Marche region of Italy where it is responsible for white wines that are high in acid and exhibit a classic bitter almond and mineral note that compliment the grape's lemon and apple fruit.

Reviews

Aromas of Olive, hazelnut, wet rocks and a bit of butter. Palate has zippy acidity and shows pear, melon and a bit of green grass. The mid-palate is sweet which mixes well with this bottles lively acidity giving it a medium weight. Sour apple and almond skins on the finish. In my opinion, this drinks like a white that could cost twice the price.

Located in the village of Poggio San Marcello, the vineyards are planted exclusively to Verdicchio and lie on the steep slopes along west side of the Esino river in the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi appellation. Donatella Sartarelli and her husband Patrizio Chiacchiarini, who own and manage the winery with the assistance of oenologist Alberto Mazzoni, guide this estate with hand care. The Verdicchio Classico is straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. It is a well-rounded wine, beautifully structured, soft on the palate with a slight suggestion of almond.
