Sauvignon Blanc is a refreshingly crisp white wine that offers citrus and tropical fruit flavors with very aromatic notes of green chilies, grass, herbs, asparagus and gooseberries commonly contributing to the bouquet. Had the good fortune of doing a vertical of Saracina Sauvignon Blanc (2004-2006). The 04 had all the stereotypical SB pungency, if you like that kind of funk. The 05 took some time to come out of its shell, but bridged the gap of bright new world ripe fruit and old world terroir; while the 06, stood up and said, look at me, I'm young and sexy, like a debutante at the ball. Each of the wines had their own unique, lasting finish, but lacked the racy acidity that you would expect from such a bottling.
