Paolo makes terrific Moscato d'Asti, the delicately scented, frizzante (semi-sparkling) wine made from Moscato Bianco grapes. Moderately sweet with a faint hint of sage and mandarin.
Moscato d'Asti is one of the true wine delights of the world. The Moscatos of Piedmont are bold and refreshing and have equal appeal to wine novices and experts alike. Saracco's 100% Moscato is light, clean, crisp and wonderfully refreshing with fresh, fruit peach, lychee, pear and floral aromas and flavors with a very delicate effervescence. It has a clean, elegant finish exhibiting fresh, crisp acidity with no sensation of cloying sweetness. A real mouthful of fresh fruit.
Fruitily fragrant apple nose lends style and grace to this sparkling moscato. Aromatic, sweet roses and lemon flavors dance on your tongue with an appealing tropical, brilliant finish. Enjoy all year round chilled to perfection.
Winemaker Notes - Moscato d Asti is a unique wine where the beautiful aromas of the grapes are enhanced by a crisp, nice acidity, a light frizziness and the sweetness of the natural residual sugar. The low alcohol content makes it a very easy, pleasant wine perfect to finish a meal with dessert or alone, as a nice mid-day break.
Medium body and acid. Medium fruit. Medium sweet. Oranges, flowers, citrus, apples. Slightly syrupy and full of ripe, creamy, lingering fruit.
Saracco's 2009 Moscato d'Asti is like cashmere on the palate in its impossibly fine mousse. Beautifully articulated varietal aromas and flavors come together, showing exceptional elegance and pedigree.
The 2007 Moscato d'Asti offers an exciting array of lime peel, pears, green apples, flowers and minerals in a focused, incredibly pure style. The wine possesses gorgeous length and phenomenal balance. This is what top-flight Moscato is all about. Anticipated maturity: 2008.
Winemaker's Notes:
Gambero Rosso: The Saraccos are moscato makers par excellence in a territory long favourable to this variety. Paolo tends the vineyards, distributed across various plots in the municipality of Castiglione Tinella, and produces very good wines... classic... floral Moscato d'Asti... Alcohol 5.5%. Residual sugar: 140g/L. Not yet reviewed; 2011 vintage rated 90 points by Wine Advocate.
