Winemakers Notes

Triple C 2004
Winemaker's comments :
This outstanding wine has an intense, rich ruby red color. Its well developed bouquet is a rich combination of ripe, black fruits, blackcurrant and the mineral nuances associated to cinnamon and spice notes with delicate undertones of vanilla, tobacco and chocolate. Elegant and well structured, this wine has an excellent backbone causing the wine to linger on the palate. Wonderful persistence.

This superb wine is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere, three varieties originally from Bordeaux that have been carefully cultivated by Santa Rita. Triple C benefits from the best of both the Old and New World, combining the elegance of traditional grape varieties with state-of-the-art New World techniques. The specially selected grapes are grown at Santa Rita's Alto Jahuel Estate in Maipo Valley, Chile, approximately 40 miles from Santiago. Triple C represents a new style in Chilean winemaking, becoming a true expression of Chilean nature; complex and abundant. read more...

Wine Skinny

Blockbuster stuff, with rich black currant and blackberry flavors accented with sweet tobacco, earth, mocha and exotic spices. Nothing shy about this wine, from start to full-bodied finish, with some definite grip throughout. A blend of 55% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Carménère. Ready to drink now and over the next four or five years.

Dark purple color. Intense aroma with fruity sense of characteristics. And the taste?...rich with blackcurrant and black cherry. Wonderfully long lasting on the palate and quite fruity on my taste. All in all, a wonderful experience on the combination of the three C's....a triple C indeed. Worth a try if you can get a hold of it.
