Santa Rita Merlot Reserva 2010
I'm really becoming a fan of this grape - Santa Rita 120 '10 makes my list --- great nose, great color, and tons of light, black fruit (is that combo possible?); a bit of tobacco on the end.
Great grapefruit and citrus flavors. Great on a hot day with cheese and crackers. As with the 120 cab, you just can't beat it for the price.
Crisp, acidic, and easy-drinking. Not too much grapefruit, great lime zest -- well-balanced. This wine is always a crowd-pleaser.

Given that this wine is the definition of mass-market Cab (350,000 cases made), you have to be impressed by its honest, round character and relatively true aromas and flavors. The nose is meaty and a little flat, while the palate has cassis, berry and mild herbal flavors. The feel has some chop to it, but overall this is good Cabernet at a price anyone can swallow.
This value-priced wine struts like it comes from a better neighborhood. The nose is clean and is centered on berry fruit, while the palate is medium in size, with creamy, sweet berry flavors. Mildly medicinal and candied, but good overall.
Dark to the eye, with perfectly adequate raspberry and black plum aromas. The palate is a touch acidic and tangy, but even though it's lean it packs ample cassis, plum and herbal influences. Solid for the money, with a feel-good personality.
Reserva Chardonnay 2011 - Sante, Excellent By-The-Glass Choice/ This well-made Chardonnay offers abundant aromas of white peach and fresh pear, over pineapple, kiwi, and lemon cream, with just a touch of buttered toast. Round and ripe on the palate, with green apple, pear, and subtle spice, followed by a crisp grapefruit middle and a lemon and mineral finish.
Reserva Chardonnay 2009 - 88 points, Wine Advocate / The 2009 Chardonnay Reserva saw 25% of the wine aged in oak sur lie with batonnage, the balance in stainless steel. Aromas of toast, melon, pear, apple, and hazelnuts lead to a nicely proportioned, medium-bodied, ripe wine with excellent depth and concentration. It is an excellent value that over-delivers in a big way.
This perennial Best Buy shines in 2005. It's clean, inviting and ready to go as piercing cherry, plum and cola flavors make a stand. Flush, warm and fairly full-bodied, 120 is one of those bargain lines that satisfies. More than 300,000 cases made, so it's good stuff made on a grand scale.
A medium-bodied Chilean Cabernet with sweet berry and cherry flavors with a touch of tasty spice, mild tannins and perfect balance. It's wonderful with food.
