A sophisticated, brooding Cabernet from Chile. It shows plenty of dark fruit, with toasty notes and subtle crushed mint. It's incredible with beef braises.

Densely packed, with fig, currant and blackberry flavors, all wrapped up with coffee, bittersweet cocoa powder and loam notes. Long, ripe, muscular finish lets the notes of dark fruit, earth and grilled sage linger. Drink now through 2011. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

Powerful, with lots of smoke, cedar, loam, black currant and blackberry fruit flavors. Thick, burly tannins will need to resolve a bit, but this is a fine display of Maipo Cabernet. Drink now through 2007.

An appealing wine with pretty cherry and spice flavors, and a hint of sweet toasty oak in the finish.

This well-balanced red offers black cherry, herbal and light coffee flavors with firm but unobstructive tannins. It's both flavorful and refreshing, a fine food wine.

Broad-shouldered, with lots of tobacco, currant paste and loam notes backed by a muscular structure. The dark, dense finish shows hints of cedar and roasted vanilla. Has lots of Pauillac-like grip. A terrific value. Drink now through 2014.

A light-bodied wine with pretty cherry flavors, spicy, toasty oak notes and firm tannins on the finish. Not a blockbuster, but has appealing personality, good with food.
