There's a lot going on with this wine! It is intriguing and complex. It's a dark ruby color with a nose that develops and changes over time. Upon pouring I immediately got green pepper on the nose but that softened with some air. Cedar, chocolate, blueberry, blackberry,a whisper of violet and some plum. Also has some earthiness and spice. Nice long lingering finish that makes you want to come back for more. Still great on the 2nd night. Probably would cellar well for another couple years at least.

A 'by the book' shiraz, a syrupy wine with a 'melange' of red fruits, plums, blackberries, some oak in the background and a long finish; the only drawback is the slightly alcoholic finish... a decanting would benefit...
Decanted 2 hours. Lots of sediment in this one, so pour with care. Nose of cedar wood and black currant. The palate is big fruit: blackberry and currant, with some fairly heavy tannins. Dry, tannic finish with berry fuit and some mild alcohol heat. This should definitely lay down for another year. Even with the decant, still very young. Very well structured however, and my first Chilean cabernet. Excellent - 88 points.Day 2: After sitting in the decanter overnight and all the next day, I tried this wine again. What a difference! The heavy tannins are mostly gone, as is the harsh cedar nose. Lots of smooth berry and currant fruit coming through. Still a tad tannic on the finish, but loads better than last night. I definitely recommend not cracking this one until 2009--at the earliest. Note: #49 in Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2007.
