Santa Rita was founded in 1880, by a distinguished entrepreneur of those times, Mr. Domingo Fernández Concha in the area of Alto Jahuel where the main installations of the winery are currently located. From the very beginning, he introduced fine French varieties, winemakers and the most advanced winemaking techniques. From the end of the XIX century until the mid 70´s, Santa Rita developed under the ownership of Mr. Vicente García - Huidobro, father of the famous Chilean poet Vicente Huidobro Fernández. In 1980, the Grupo Claro acquired the Santa Rita property, giving a strong impulse to the enterprise in all of its scope, introducing great technological improvements and wine elaboration techniques unknown in Chile at that time. At the end of the 80´s a great expansion period for Santa Rita starts, sustained by the great momentum experienced by its exports and the excellent reputation acquired by its products, which obtained important awards and worldwide recognition. Pale straw in colour. This is a young wine.Very citrus bouquet with some peach. Distinctly off-dry and tart. Tickles the taste buds with its acidity. Lacks complexity.

A Chile Reception/ Clear gold in appearance, this wine displayed intense New World Sauvignon Blanc characteristics of green grass, lemon-citrus and gooseberry aromas. Flavors were refreshing green apple and rich pear, with finishing flavors of delicate citrus and balanced spice. Pair this with seared sea scallops or a fried shrimp po'boy.

Medalla Real Sauvignon Blanc 2010 - 90 points, Wine Advocate/ The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc Medalla Real was sourced from Leyda fruit, a region establishing a big reputation for this varietal and it shows. A splendid bouquet of fresh cut grass, jasmine, baking spices, and grapefruit set the stage for a medium-bodied, ripe, concentrated, spicy Sauvignon with excellent balance and length.

Bargain Buzz/ Very grassy and citrusy on the nose; deliciously fruity, crisp and refreshing with stone fruit and mineral undercurrents. For lovers of very grassy, New Zealand style.

/ Soft, with modest herb, straw and lime notes that give way to a broad, easy finish.

120 Sauvignon Blanc 2008 - 87 Points, International Wine Cellar/ Pale straw. Zesty lime and grapefruit aromas are straightforward and pure. Clean and brisk on the palate, with racy citrus and pear flavors and good mineral snap. The brisk finish offers modest persistence. This is an excellent value in refreshing sauvignon blanc.

Medalla Real Sauvignon Blanc 2008 - 90 Points, Wine Review Online/ This is a very fine rendition of Sauvignon Blanc from Chile's Leyda Valley, which is slowly gaining note as a world class source of Sauvignon. Although it shows a cool climate signature in the forms of grassy, herbal aromas and zesty citrus fruit, it is actually a rather complex wine with medium body and some ripe melon fruit notes to go with the citrus flavors. This is light and fresh enough to pair beautifully with raw oysters while not overpowering them, but also rich enough to hold its own with most fish dishes or lighter preparations of chicken.

120 Sauvignon Blanc 2007 - 87 Points, Wine Enthusiast/ Reflective of a good vintage for Saugignon Blanc, this delicious wine features pretty flower blossom and citrus aromas backed by fresh apple, orange and lime flavors. It's clean, crisp and balanced across the palate. Perfect for drinking upon purchase.
