Santa Julia Chardonnay Organic 2012
Over the years, Argentine producers have added chardonnay to their fine portfolio of malbecs. They are more in the New World style as opposed to Burgundian. Way above the average, cheap chardonnay at a remarkable price. A wine with intense tropical fruit aromas with a soft mouthfeel.
Santa Julia is a label offshoot of Familia Zuccardi wines from Mendoza, Argentina. The wine is named after Julia Zuccardi, daughter of chief winemaker José Alberto Zuccardi. The wines are organic (although not certified under US law) and handmade, with close attention to detail. This is an affordable range of dry and sparkling wines as well as a late harvest Torontes/Viognier blend called simply “Tardio.”
