Mushroomy aromas are like a forest mist with cherries. Bright fruit, spiky acidity, dark chocolate and just a hint of eucalyptus and medicine. Just a fantastic wine.
loaded with berry jam fruit combined with a bit of spice, red pepper flake nose, really lovely!
A very peppery, spicy red wine with some earthy tones.
Perfect for the rainy evenings.
Yes, please! Domaine Santa Duc makes some of the world's best Gigondas. Even though this isn't the Prestige, it is an extremely balanced wine - just delicious! A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault really covers all the bases. Very aromatic nose, some berries, some tar. This wine really fills your palate and provides a very luscious finish. Perfect to pair with a meal, or with a simple cheese tasting.
Longest finish on a wine, ever! Fantastic wine. Spicy, garrigue, stone fruit. It just goes on and on...

Quite possibly the wine of the vintage, the brilliant 2009 Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas Prestige des Hautes Garrigues is a blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 3% Syrah, and 2% Cinsault that's aged for 2 years in a combination of French oak barrels an... Deep ruby. Sexy blackberry and blackberry scents verge on liqueur-like, with bright mineral and spice notes providing energy. Lush, creamy and smooth, with densely packed dark berry flavors lifted by a spicy nuance. Supple tannins add shape to the very long, sweet, clinging finish. Incidentally, the 2006 version of this wine is drinking wonderfully, based on a bottle that I tried in New York in December. It is just hitting its plateau of maturity and will provide great pleasure for at least the next few years.
A true whopper, and one of the great examples I have tasted from Yves Gras is his 2009 Gigondas Prestige Les Hautes Garrigues. It possesses 16.5% natural alcohol, and the level of concentration is remarkable. Inky purple to the rim, this wine, which is aged 20% in new oak casks and the rest in older wood and foudres, has a stunning nose of lead pencil shavings, incense, camphor, barbecue smoke, blackberry, cassis and kirsch. Its smorgasbord of aromas follow through in the mouth. A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre, with ripe Mourvedre giving structure and a meaty complexity to the wine, this is a massive Gigondas that will hit its stride in 2andndash;3 years, and last for two decades. I am not exaggerating its aging potential, as I still have bottles of the 1989 Prestige Les Hautes Garrigues that are fully mature, but gorgeous.
Gras' top cuvee from the oldest vines planted in the estate's finest sectors is the 2009 Gigondas Les Hautes Garrigues, which tips the scales at nearly 16.5% alcohol. A terrific effort that spent time in 20% new oak casks, it boasts a dense opaque pu... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. Solid for the vintage, with a good core of anise, mulled plum, boysenberry and fig, all laced with sweet spice and roasted apple wood notes. The nicely rounded finish has ample length. Drink now through 2013. 500 cases imported. - JM Wine Spectator. A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2008 Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas 750ml

One of the top successes of the vintage is the 2004 Gigondas Les Hautes Garrigues Cuvee Prestige. Full-bodied with phenomenal intensity, an inky bluish purple color, and hints of asphalt, black truffle, blueberry, black cherry, and flowers with a hin... Robert Parker.
