Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyards "Bailey" 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

You may know Santa Cruz for surfing, redwoods, and maybe even bobcats. However, at 1200 ft above the Pacific Ocean, the winery has been around since 1975. Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyards has been making wines with the basic philosophy of wine as a food for over 32 years. Their European–style, food friendly wine has moderate alcohol and oak in order to express the true characteristics of the grapes. This is not your jammy and oaky Pinot Noir. So surfs up. Unfined and unfiltered.

Since 1975, Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard has been producing terroir-driven, food-oriented wines known for their character, personality and ability to age gracefully for decades. We are well-known for making Pinot Noir that is still alive and well in its third decade. In 2008 we launched a second brand, Quinta Cruz, which features all Iberian Peninsula varieties. These Portuguese and Spanish varieties include Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Graciano, and Tinto Cão. Our tasting room and winery is located in the City of Santa Cruz in an area where you can walk to many other tasting rooms nearby, many in the same building. We are only a few blocks from the beach and Natural Bridges State Park. Read less
