Food Pairings for Santa Carolina Reserva Carmenere
Editorial Reviews for Santa Carolina Reserva Carmenere
Spicy on the nose with a nice base of oak joined by aromas of earth, blue fruits violets, green herbs and brambly fruit. Bright and juicy in the mouth, this delivers pretty big flavors of earth, toasty oak, blueberries, sage and cherry fruit. A hint of sweetness adds roundness to the palate which shows fairly soft tannins, though some wood tannin does add a bit of dryness on the backend and cuts the black cherry and oak spiced finish short. Easy drinking and bold if a bit simple. 86pts
Very spicy nose, raspberry, cherry
Lovely. Absolutely lovely.
Purple, dense and vibrant almost opaque. Notes of blackberry and mint, low intensity on the nose, may need some air to open up. Moderate plus to high, surprisingly tart, high alcohol, high intensity of flavor. Full bodied, huge wine, dense blackberry, blackcurrant, hint of mulling spices, coffee, very big, may need time to open up, suggest decanting. High tannins but nicely polished tannins. Long very intense finish.
Regular Carmenere chileno.
Big, rich, spicy with layers of complex berry notes and more spice! Great for the big red drinkers out there.
