Santa Alvara Sauvignon Blanc Casa Lapostolle Casa Lapostolle Chile Chile Branco Seco 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

Casa Lapostolle has been founded by the Marnier Lapostolle family from France and the Rabat family from Chile in 1994, through Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle, her husband Cyril de Bournet and Don José Rabat Gorchs. Today, Casa Lapostolle is 100% owned by the Marnier-Lapostolle group. The Marnier Lapostolle family, founders and owners of the world-renowned liqueur Grand Marnier, are known for producing spirits and liqueurs, but the family has been also involved in winemaking for generations. Originally winegrowers in the Loire Valley, the Marnier Lapostolle continue this vintner tradition today as owners of Château de Sancerre. This delightful Sauvignon evokes elegant aromas of white nectarine, pear and white flowers, with some citrus fruit and tangerine notes, and fresh herbs and mineral notes at the end. Medium-bodied with a concentrated mid-palate and a long, fresh finish.

Metallic golden color. Medium-bodied. Moderately extracted. Ripe citrus, brown spice. Clean ripe citrusy aromas show a smoky note that follows through well on the palate. Brown spices linger on the finish. Ripe, straightforward style.

There are over 30,000 cases of the 1997 Sauvignon Blanc, which is a terrific Sauvignon, with gobs of melony, floral, and honeyed fruit, medium body, a plush texture, and outstanding purity.

Ripe apple and herb flavors and accents of vanilla give this white a gentle appeal. It has just enough acidity for food. Drink now.

Green-gold color. Smoky peach and yellow plum on the nose, with a subtle lemon note adding energy. Fleshy and a touch sweet, with deep orchard fruit and melon flavors and firmer orange and lemon pith qualities. Finishes with good breadth and lingering citrus character.

Light yellow. Intriguingly perfumed aromas of grapefruit, lemon thyme, licorice and yellow rose. Very fresh, offering palate-coating citrus and orchard fruit flavors, with ample flesh and chewy texture. Finishes with good precision and lingering smokiness. This is a superb value, with great complexity for the money.

Cool lemon rind, spice and fresh herb aromas. Supple, creamy, ripe and satisfying...

This round white offers ripe flavors of apples and melons, with spicy notes that hint of cinnamon and clove. Not a typical Sauvignon Blanc, lively enough to bring you back for another sip. Drink now.
