Santa Alicia Millantu Bordeaux Blend 2008

Member Review by Dougman:

I opened the 2008 Santa Alicia Millantu, which is a Bordeaux style blend. Currently selling for $7.99 at Grocery Outlet. Overall, it’s a good medium weight cab, but not a great cab, which is how it had been promoted to me. Well worth the $8 GO price, but not worth the $25 list price. Plenty of toasty oak, cedar, currants, very slight Eucalyptus, but not the level of concentration or density that I was led to expect. Little remaining tannins, probably fully mature, but not near the end of it’s life. Better than the typical sub-$15 California Cab, because it doesn't have any of the herbaceous character of most central coast Cal Cabs, similar to many Bordeaux petit chateaux
