Santa Alicia Millantu 2006
Inky ruby. Cassis, cherry, tobacco, herbs and smoke on the nose; showing its cabernet today. Smooth and a bit subdued, with a restrained sweetness to the flavors of currant, cherry and bitter chocolate. Turns more tangy with air and finishes with fine-grained tannins and good length. Still a bit tight.Add winemaker's notes

Santa Aliciaandrsquo;s 2006 Millantu is made up of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Cabernet Franc, and 18% Carmenere. A glass-coating opaque purple, it gives up a reticent nose of cedar, spice box, cinnamon, sage, violets, blackcurrant, and blueberry. Round, ripe, and surprisingly forward, this is an elegant effort that can be enjoyed now but can be cellared for several years.
Earthy and herbal on the nose, with a nice blanket of leather to add rusticity to the wineandrsquo;s core cherry and raspberry aromas. The palate is full, chewy and a touch candied, with roasted berry, herb and chocolate flavors. Finishes lightly roasted as well; drink now.
