More reserved, with pure, clean aromas and flavors, the 2010 Pinot Noir La Rinconada is medium-bodied, rich and layered, with sound overall balance and structure. There’s beautiful typicity here and it should benefit from short-term cellaring and have 10–12 years of ultimate longevity. Drink 2015–2022.

Rich, full and deeply flavored, impressive for its mix of dark cherry, spice, mineral and cedar, unfolding to reveal even more facets, with touches of anise and black licorice. Should only get better. Best from 2013 through 2023.

Winemaker's Notes:

A unique and surprisingly rich expression of Pinot Noir made exclusively from estate-grown fruit. The palate delivers favors of rich fruit framed nicely by bright acidity. The mid palate is full, round and leads to a lingering finish suggestive of dusty chocolate and cherry COLOR Deep ruby red AROMA Exploding with spicy black cherry, cola, pepper and tar TASTE The mid palate is full, round and leads to a lingering finish suggestive of dusty chocolate and cherry. Length/Type of Fermentation: 100% malolactic fermentation. Length/Type of Aging: The wine was allowed to age in new French Oak barrels (50% New) for 10 months where it gained concentration and a velvety texture.
