Sandrone Luciano Cannubi Boschis Barolo 2000

Winemaker's Notes:

97 points Wine Spectator: Solid and superfruity. Ultraclean, with blackberries, raspberries and licorice character. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish. Focused and silky. Very refined indeed. One of the best Cannubis ever from here. Best after 2009. 900 cases made.

Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

His move from small barriques to larger tonneaux is obvious in the less noticable oak impact his recent vintages exhibit. This approach lets the fruit take center stage and yields plush and pure wines.

Saturated deep red. Less expressive on the nose than Le Vigne, hinting at blackberry, flowers and smoky oak. Suave on entry, then quite closed in the middle palate; less obviously lush and sweet than Le Vigne but more gripping. Then very strong on th... Stephen Tanzer's IWC.
