Sandihurst Chardonnay Waipara 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

The wine is a Chardonnay in the Chablis mould - a serious cool climate style white wine made without the influence of oak but with the additional complexity of lees ageing. Ripe citrus and tropical fruit dominate the nose. The mouth feel is generous with plenty of creamy texture from lees stirring. Fine natural acidity is well balanced by the palate weight and a sliver of residual sweetness which contributes to the wine's lengthy finish.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
