A visitor left a bottle at my house so I helped myself!! That was 2 years ago. I am in love!! tastes like Hazelnuts. Love love love this sherry.
Scent is of alcohol with a hint of oak. Color is a gorgeous golden amber-ish, and this may be the only thing this sherry really has going for it. Alcohol scent overwhelms the tasting, leaving one with the feeling of drinking hard liquor. Taste is too sweet, not very dry at all (no "slight" blend of the PX with the original amontillado). No "nutty complexity" or any other flavors other than the PX. Finish is average, with an almost too sweet aftertaste. Would not buy this sherry again nor probably any sherry from Sandeman (sadly, it was the only sherry in the nearest wine store).

Sandeman Amontillado Sherry Medium-Dry Character is a premium quality Amontillado Sherry, aged in small casks where the pale wines slowly evolve into medium gold amber colors and flavors of subtle complexity develop. Later a small amount of rich PX Sherry is blended in to make a dry and complex wine with a touch of sweetness.Aromatic and complex on the nose, slightly pungent, with notes of PX. Medium golden in color with hints of red amber. Very harmonious on the palate, with an agreeable touch of sweetness at the first moment, giving way to a nutty complexity and a long clean finish.

This Amontillado sherry is aged in small casks to develop its flavor and amber color. It's nose is quite aromatic, and it pairs well with pâtes and smoked meats.
