Sancerre Rouge Réserve de Marcigoué Crochet Fr 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

The perfect definition of a Chenin Blanc made with wines over 35 years old. It is honeyed and floral with powerful fruit and well judged oak with a toasty hazelnut hint.

Fresh fruit + minerals. Refined.. Crisp + sharp - good fruit.. Very good, very pricy.

Very pale straw in color, with lime and mineral aromas and palate. Nice underlying acidity. Had with poached salmon and dill sauce for brunch.

There's not much pink Sancerre to be had in the world let alone to be imported to NY. We knew we had something special in our hands when this was presented to us. Quite simply it's a connoisseur's delight. This is made of Pinot Noir, dry with gently-red berried aromas. Dry on the palate with a nice mineral edge to the finish.
