Sancerre Monts Dames Francois Cotat 2008
Fruit for this delicious wine comes from the Casablanca and Curicó Valleys. This is a wine with extremely attractive tropical nose. It is a fresh, crispy, light and happy wine. Pale yellow and 100% fermented in stainless steel, this wine sees no oak ageing. Selected grapes picked from the cool Casablanca climate together with the elegance of the fruit picked from the foothills of the Andes in Curicó valley are used to make this wine. Enjoy as young as possible. It is very good as appetizer and goes well with white meat. Drink it with fresh salads, fish or simply as its own. Perfect as wine by the glass.

A hint of VA greets the nose followed by rather wooly, vaguely animal notes and plenty of shaved bitter chocolate all piled up over dried red berry fruits. On entry, this is rather focused and elegant; but it balloons in the mouth, revealing impressive concentration and depth. The fruit remains youthful but not fruity and while the oak is prominent, it’s balanced out by the fruit. This grows into a rich, almost chewy wine with a nice blend of roasted coffee bean, toasty spice and nuanced herb notes all accenting the subtle fruit. The finish is dark, spicy and oily, recalling coffee beans and licorice with a peppery spice on the finale. 91pts
Heavy peppery sharp nose, not much fruit, a little bit of licorice. The body is equally sharply defined, with vegetative and barrel notes. A little bit of strawberry fruit in the finish. Kind of a punkish/goth wine personality wise.
Coconut and vanilla tones on the nose, which would imply American oak. Loads of red and black fruit on the nose. Baking spices. Some flinty tones. Some coconut on the palate as well. It's richly textured and has bright acid. Some bitter cocoa. The dark red and purple fruits on the palate turn to cranberry and pomegranate on the back end. It's complex and rich.
This great Chilean value SB, featured alongside similar wines that could seriously challenge New Zealand's stranglehold on the New World SB benchmark style. http://enotheque.blogspot.com/2009/01/playlist-bargain-new-world-sauvignon.html
Inky purple almost opaque, very dense. On the nose, chocolate, mocha, coffee, blackberry and black cherry, hints of sage. Moderate plus tart acidity, dry with moderate very well-integrated alcohol, high intensity of fruit, full body, flavors of dense black stewed fruits, cassis, mulberry a touch of prune, bilberry or blueberry. Black fruits very nice, not too overtly fruity. High tannins a bit astringent, a hint of greenness and a long finish.
I love malbec but have recently discovered Alpha Carmenere- and WOW. Aurelio Montes has never let me down as this is no exception. Very concentrated with a unique spice I couldn't quite place. Hints of black cherry and ripe plum brought to a nice long finish. I can't wait for the next vintage.
An exemplary SB table wine. A complete pleasure with cheese, especially.

This is a crisp and clean white Bordeaux that has a lovely mouth-filling texture and pithy fruit character. As much as we adore the lean and mineraled Loire Valley take on Sauvignon Blanc, we also enjoy this rounder style, which is unique to Bordeaux.

"Deep and live ruby red color. The wine has a very elegant and evident Carmenère tipicity
