Sancerre Chavignol les Monts Damnees Pascal Cotat 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

"...strikingly pale green-gold in color; and around 14.5% alcohol – delivers a riot of tropical fruits such as I seldom recall from this site. Papaya, kumquat, grapefruit, lime, Persian melon, and passion fruit all migrate to an opulent, glycerin-rich palate, delivering a long, lush, succulent, though slightly warm, sizzling finish. An aura of distilled herbal essences wafts through this, and classic chalkiness as well as a saline, sweet savor of lobster shell reduction lend remarkable mineral depth for a wine of such sheer ripeness. This will be fascinating to serve and to follow, but it needs to be paired carefully and cellared watchfully on account of its sheer richness and high alcohol...91" WA 08/10
