San Marzano Verdeca Talo

External Review by Great Wines Direct:

Fresh and mineral, pleasantly flavoured, intense aromas of white flowers and vanilla.Puglia, the heel of the Italian boot is a long flat region with prolific production of wine and table grapes as well as olive oil and is an important agricultural region.South of Brindisi lays the Salento peninsula that extends towards Albania and the Greek mainland and is Italy s easternmost point. The finest wines are produced in the Salento peninsula where the soil is rich brown on a calcareous base. Though the climate is hot it is not torrid, thanks to the cooling influence of breezes coming off the Adriatic and Ionian seas.Cantine San Marzano was established in 1962 by a group of wine lovers whose ancestors had farmed the land for generations. They all knew the heritage and potential of this unique land and were able to capitalise on the best aspects of the terroir, climate and unfaltering human endeavour to produce wonderful wines.Grapes: Verdeca 100%Region: Italy / Puglia / Brindisi Maker: Caterina BellanovaNotes: Straw yellow colour with golden reflections, intense aromas of white flowers and vanilla. The palate is fresh and mineral, pleasantly flavoured in the end.Serve: Chilled at 12-14c to accompany seafood dishes, crustaceans, poached fish in a light sauce.ABV: 13%Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans
