What to Expect

The classic Bordeaux blends rely on either Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon for the bulk of the wine with additions of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec helping to add complexity, color, body and structure to the finished wine.

Winemakers Notes

The Weather conditions of the year 2004 were characterized by a very sunny but not particularly hot summer, unlike in 2003.

The vines did not suffer drought during summer, thanks to a good amount of rain during spring. The grapes reached full maturity in the first ten days of September. The whole harvest took place during sunny days.

Guidalberto is a blend of 45% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Sangiovese. The wine is characterized by a very intense purplish color. The nose is very long and persistent, and a very well-balanced and persistant structure is already evident on the palate. The wine is round and gentle. The combination of an important organoleptic structure and richness of polyphenols, suggests an excellent longevity for this wine.
