San Filippo Rosso di Montalcino 2004

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

Shows blackberries and dried flowers on the nose. Full-bodied, with lots of ripe berry and cream character. Rich and flavorful. Long and beautiful. It's layered and velvety. Seductive. Drink now. 5,610 cases made. -JS Wine Spectator. A Sangiovese Grosso wine from Tuscany in Italy. 2004 Fanti (Tenuta San Filippo) Brunello di Montalcino 750ml

The soil is limy with stratified formation of "galestro" (marls). The climate is extremely particular and at one and the same time favours robust and elegant wines because of the strong exposure to the sun during the day thanks to the configuration of the hills where the vineyards are located, with a good thermal drop at night due to the fresh winds coming from nearby Mount Amiata. Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
