This massive wine has an opaque ruby, almost purple, color with heavy dark fruits, ash and herbal notes on the nose. The palate has a full body with an imposing tannin structure that will benefit from several years of bottle age. In its youth, this Syrah is a bold mouthful, but will certainly mature to a more balanced and complex wine after 3-5 years in the cellar and will drink well for a decade.

Winemaker's Notes:

92 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): Opaque purple. The deep, exotically scented bouquet of boysenberry, cherry-cola and oak spices reminded me of a Cote-Rotie from Bonnefond. Lush and creamy in texture, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and powerful but integrated tannins. Picks up notes of black olive and black pepper with air and finishes with excellent clarity and sweet persistence. This is complex enough to drink right now. (Nov/Dec 2009)
